Calling Coast Salish Artists (especially youth!): Logo Design Opportunity
Are you a Coast Salish artist with a passion for creating captivating designs? We're seeking a talented individual to design a logo for the Coast Salish Youth Coalition. SUBMISSIONS DUE MON. MARCH 25TH
Key Details:
Location: Fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere.
Eligibility: Must be of Coast Salish descent.
Youth Artist Incentive: To support young artists, the top 3 young adult portfolios (24 and under) will receive a $150 prize for submission.
Selection Process: The Coalition Board will choose the top portfolio artist who will be awarded $1,000 to design the logo with input from Board.
Timeline: Once selected, you'll have approximately one month to complete the design.
Themes: Logo themes may include camas, canoes, youth, and the San Juan Islands, etc.
Medium: Digital design is required, to ensure adaptability across various platforms and mediums.
Compensation: The selected artist will receive $1,000 for their work, based on an estimated 20 hours of effort at approximately $50 per hour. The top 3 young adults (24 and under) will receive a $150 prize for simply submitting their portfolio.

What is the Coast Salish Youth Coalition?
The Coast Salish Youth Coalition (CSYC) was founded in 2017 and serves inter-tribal indigenous youth ages 14+ from Coast Salish Tribes who have ancestral ties with the San Juan Islands. This program organizes inter-generational cultural events while pairing education with environmental stewardship and providing employment opportunities. This program is coordinated by a 100% Indigenous inter-tribal board and is fiscally sponsored by The Madrona Institute. Learn more on our website page here.
